What languages does Kardo support?
Kardo supports 42 languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, and Hindi — plus 29 more. The AI extracts vocabulary for any pair of native and learning languages from this list. Call recording isn't available yet for Catalan, Icelandic, Swahili, Urdu and Welsh — lessons in those languages come in through text, files, audio or video.
Can I use Kardo without live lessons?
Yes. Besides recording live calls, you can paste text or word lists, upload files (PDF, DOCX, TXT), import videos from YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, or Facebook, upload audio recordings, or photograph text with your camera. Kardo extracts flashcards from any source.
How is this different from Anki or Quizlet?
Anki and Quizlet work from decks you build or find yourself — typed by hand, imported from shared decks, or generated from your notes with an add-on or AI. Kardo makes the cards from your own lessons automatically: the bot joins the call, and the vocabulary, grammar patterns, and idioms you met arrive as cards with context sentences. Reviews run on FSRS, the modern spaced repetition algorithm that Anki offers as an option (its default is the older SM-2); in Kardo there is nothing to switch on.
Will my teacher see the bot?
The bot joins as a regular participant, so your teacher will see it in the call. You can let them know it's your study assistant — most teachers are supportive once they understand what it does.
How long until I get my cards?
Usually within a few minutes after the meeting ends. You'll receive an email with a link to your flashcards as soon as they're ready.
Is my lesson recording private?
Yes. Your recording and transcript are processed securely and only accessible to you. We don't share lesson content with other users or use it for training. You can delete any lesson and its data at any time from your dashboard.
Do I need an account?
Not for your first lesson. Just add the bot email to your calendar event. Sign in to track progress, manage cards, and unlock more lessons.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel anytime from your dashboard. No lock-in. Your existing flashcards and study progress stay available even after cancellation.
